REMEMBER the Gala Dinner in November

Posted on: July 7, 2018 By: Michael Hervey

The Year of Our Lord 2018 is moving fast. That means CVMF’s cherished and much-anticipated Gala Dinner is heading in your direction…quickly.

We’ve moved the dinner’s location to downtown Campbell at the Villa Ragusa on 11/10 at 5 PM. This immaculate and elegant venue offers a beautiful change of pace and promises to be one of CVMF’s more memorable events. Fine dining, inspiring guests, notable speakers, and a grand assemblage of gifts and prizes are sure to please one and all.

Make plans. Clear your schedule. Shine your shoes. Get ready. More details TBA.

The Pathway to Glory

Posted on: May 10, 2018 By: Michael Hervey

In conjunction with the heroic efforts of the Westgate Church volunteers, the Campbell Veterans Memorial Foundation(CVMF) reconstructed the pathway to Campbell’s memorial honoring the U.S. Armed Forces and local veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice.

This beautiful project was conducted during a six-week span that involved expert coordination by CVMF’s Chairman Emeritus Jim Free and Westgate Church’s Phil Alne. These gentlemen correctly pulled all the required levers of city government and integrated the support of 100+ church volunteers who exemplified all that is good about America’s youth.

Guided by Alex Calderon and Oscar Martinez, the volunteers laid an elegant brick/paver segment of a Fibonacci Design that begins at the sidewalk base and culminates at the central flag plaza. Also known as the Golden Ratio, this beautiful and attention-grabbing pattern is beautifully employed by many natural wonders like petals and pine cones, for example. The Fibonacci Design is also used extensively in art, history, theology, and conceptual mathematics.

The CVMF Board also extends special and heartfelt thanks to Rob Peterson of A Tool Shed for their fantastic support of the CVMF Project and the City of Campbell’s Beautiful Day event. None of these projects could have been accomplished without the tools and heavy equipment provided by A Tool Shed. Of course, the Strouss Brothers presaged the Pathway To Glory brick-laying with their critical excavation service.

CVMF will inaugurate the Pathway To Glory on Memorial Day, May 28, at 9 am. We cordially invite all of you to attend and pay respects to our fallen heroes and appreciate the exquisite work done by volunteers and support staff.
